Be still my heart. Pennie picked Lilac Girls.

I’ve always thought Costco was amazing and now I know for sure. It’s so gratifying to have someone like Pennie Clark Ianniciello, who has her finger on the pulse of what’s good in books, sing Lilac Girls’ praises. Writer Lisa Alcalay Klug captured the story so beautifully and they even included a video from my website about the rabbits and a giveaway of copies with signed bookplates. Costco goes above and beyond once again.

I just wanted to tell you that I went to the Bellamy-Ferriday house yesterday Mother’s Day with my husband thinking I’d have the place pretty much to ourselves, but because of your wonderful book there were many, many people there. I also went home with a Lilac sapling. I would have like to go there on June 10th , but we will be away. We will be going back in the Fall. Cherie

My Costco magazine is where I read the review of your novel!!! That Pennie sure can call out the great ones. Can’t wait to read it … the deliciously scented pages are calling my name!

My comments are small and may not have the type of context used here before, but I felt I must leave them here.
Thank you Martha. As George Santayana said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” I thrived in my history classes in the 1960’s. But, never have I felt so desperately sick while reading of the “Rabbits” treatment at Ravensbruck. My heart broke for them.
But, thank you for the reminder of how horrendous people around the world are treated in the name of a government. I will NOT forget!

The Coronado Book Club celebrated The Lilac Girls at Ann Kennedy’s Polish dinner with lilacs everywhere.

Wow that is such an interesting article on how your work on the book started. Again, thanks so very much for your work and bringing this to life.
