I promised myself when we bought our little beach house that I would take the time to make myself a special writing space, a place where I could go and sequester myself to meet deadlines and do other important writing things. First step was to find the dream space, something to aspire to. That was easy:

This is my fantasy space. Wouldn’t words flow really well in such a lovely place?
I have a similar little structure on our new property, one that with a little, well, a lot of work might someday be in the same ballpark:
Yes, it seems to be missing the same sort of charm factor. Yes, something seems to have gnawed its way through one of the doors (everyone who sees it offers a different opinion of what that might be…squirrel, boring bees, various birds.) Yes, it may take some work to get it on par with its charming magazine shed-cousin but I’m willing to try. Who knows, it may not take all summer…

What a wonderful manifestation of a special place to write, think and dream. I am so excted to read your novel, and seeing your lilacs and where you live and work is very special, thanks for posting. Looking forward to publication and thanks for keeping us in the loop!
