Designer extraordinaire Ann Parker recently interviewed illustrator and calligrapher Holly Hollon and found the secrets to her success. Says Holly: “I use google maps to get a gist of the land and from there I sketch the spacial area. As I am doing that I block off where the landmarks are. I do a lot of research about the place I am drawing the map of to understand the culture and the lay of the land.”
How lucky I was to have her design a map for me to document my Lilac Girls research journey–(she does great wedding calligraphy, too if you’re in the market…) You can read Ann’s post about Holly here: http://gritandwitdesign.com/interview-holly-hollon/
